Brand identity for independent policy organisation

The Effective Governance Forum is an independent cross-party organisation. In order to take their activities to the next level, they needed to ensure their message would get noticed and respected with impact.

It was important to bear in mind that the main audience, made up of the public sector and media, sits within a politically sensitive environment.

Designs Like These worked with the team to review the current brand positioning and what needed to change (guided workshop session), followed by the development of a new logo, brand style and supporting branded materials.

Initially, the thinking was to avoid any party-specific colours, to be clear on their cross-party positioning. However, we turned this on its head and incorporated the most influential political colours into the brand style. This embraces the idea that the policies they write serve every party across the spectrum.

We looked at what was most important for the brand, which included the phrases: confident, not arrogant; urgent, not dramatic; solutions-focused; openness.

These brand keywords formed the basis of the creative brief. As we developed and refined the visuals, we constantly checked that the designs captured the right feelings.

The result:
“We wanted to let you know how thrilled we were with our launch event because the branding made it shine! Everything looked great from the report itself to the banners and postcards. The team are delighted with the new look”, Andrew
